NJIT Student Studio on Hoboken Terminal Resilience

Posted on Jan 6, 2016

In November 2015, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Architecture and Design students presented the results of a year-long collaborative effort with NJ TRANSIT’s Capital Planning and Programs Department to make the Hoboken Terminal and its operations more resilient. Working with NJ TRANSIT architects and engineers, students studied building materials, landscaping, and other resilient design techniques that were both creative and holistic and addressed the need to harden infrastructure against future weather events while preserving the Terminal’s historic character and its place in the community.
