NJ TRANSIT is conducting the Delco Lead Storage and Inspection Facility project in accordance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) procedures for new transit projects. For the environmental review phase of the project, NJ TRANSIT made a thorough assessment of the projects’ environmental impacts in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). NJ TRANSIT proceeded with an Environmental Assessment (EA) / Draft Section 4(f) Evaluation and Appendices that were posted on this website for review on December 10, 2015. An EA is a document that includes a description of the project and its anticipated impact on a broad range of environmental issues, historical / cultural resources and quality of life in the project area.
On February 17, 2016, following its review of the Delco Lead Storage and Inspection Facility EA, the FTA issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the project. To view the FONSI, click here. The issuance of the FONSI marked the end of the NEPA review of the project, allowing the project to proceed to the next phase.
